David Keyek, A-C
David spent 13 years teaching Elementary and Middle level Special Education: three years in the San Francisco Bay Area and ten years at Centennial Middle in Boulder. After spending one year in Counseling at Horizon High in Thornton, David found his home at Niwot and has been a Niwot High School counselor ten years.
Education: Syracuse University (BS), San Francisco State University (Elementary Credential), St. Mary’s College of California (Special Education Credential – Moderate Needs), University of Colorado – Denver (MA, Counseling and Psychology).
David was born and raised in New Jersey, just outside Philadelphia. He is married with one son who currently attends Syracuse University, and one daughter who attends Western Washington University. His wife is a Kindergarten Teacher at Foothill Elementary in Boulder.
David's interests include hiking big peaks, road cycling, skiing, trail running, sailing, music and generally goofing around.
Adam Lotito, D-H
Adam completed his CACREP Counseling program from Northern Illinois University. He joined the Niwot Counseling team last year after moving from St. Joseph, MO.
Education: B.S. Kinesiology, Northern Illinois University; M.S.Ed. School Counseling, Northern Illinois University.
Adam was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and lived in several places before his family settled down in Missouri. He enjoys being active, baking, anime, and spending time with his family and friends.
Kelly Christensen, I-Mi
Kelly has been a school counselor for 6 years. Kelly spent 8 years in construction management before making a career change to school counseling. He joined the Niwot High School Counseling team in 2016. He is the Head Cross Country Coach at Niwot, and serves on the coaching staff for the Track and Field team as well.
Education: B.A. Psychology, Western State College; B.A. Sociology, Western State College; M.A. School Counseling, University of Northern Colorado.
An outdoor enthusiast and proud Colorado native, Kelly was born and raised on the Western Slope of Colorado near Steamboat Springs.
CALAN Anderson, Mo-Sa
Calan has been in education for over 16 years and has been a counselor for six years in St. Vrain. She was an IB Sport, Exercise, and Health Science teacher and a Fulbright teacher before becoming a school counselor.
Education: Ithaca College (B.S.), University of Montana (M.S.) and Adams State University (M.A.)
Calan is originally from the East Coast and has lived in Colorado for 16 years. She loves to travel and has been to all of the continents and over 80 countries. Calan's interests include open water swimming, hiking in the mountains, camping and spending time with her family and friends.
Leah Messinger, Sc-Z
Leah has been a school counselor for 4 years. She joined the NHS counseling team, in 2018, from Timberline PK-8.
Education: B.A. Psychology, University of Colorado at Boulder; B.A. Sociology, University of Colorado at Boulder; M.S.Ed. School Counseling, University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Leah was joyfully born and raised a Cougar and attended Niwot Elementary, Sunset Middle, and Niwot High School. She married her NHS sweetheart in 2018. Some of her passions include traveling, baseball, fly fishing, camping, cuddling with her Bernese mountain dog, and enjoying time with loved ones.
Tenica Henry, Interventionist
Tenica has spent 20 plus years as a mental health worker in various organizations and 16 years as a school social worker. She has been on the Niwot High School Counseling team for 10 years.
Education: University of Colorado at Boulder (B.A. in Psychology); Colorado State University (M.A. in Social Work); Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Colorado.
Tenica was born in Boulder, and currently lives in Erie, Colorado. She is married with a 12 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family, paddle boarding, camping, and traveling.
